Answering a reader's concern about information on applicant's CV for senior vacancy within the questioner's busines, Financial Times journalist Jonathan Moules confirms my own view, indeed my own experience: "you cannot assume that CVs and supporting documents are what they seem. Neither should you be tempted to take short cuts to fill an urgent post." I have many times seen situations where such short cuts turn out to be very expensive longer term problems. Recruit in haste - and live to regret it. Take as much time as necessary and be sure you are making good recruitment decisions. Treat the selection and recruitment process just as you would when considering purchasing a very expensive tool, a critical piece of equipment for your business - because that is precisely what you are doing when you make a recruitment decision.
